The SAE Masterclass 2008 is going to take part in Berlin on the 7. and 8. of November. Attendees will experience a two-day seminar program and have a chance to meet important Audio engineers and producers.
For this masterclass we have the legendary Alan Parsons, renowned for his work with The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Hollies, Al Stewart, Paul McCartney, the Alan Parsons project and so much more.
He will present a Mixdown Workshop based on his world-famous productions and will talk about his work in detail.
The seminar will provide an insight into Alan Parsons' workflow and give the group a chance to discuss this with him.
Audio Egineer and Producer Hans-Martin Buff will also be one of our Special guests for the masterclass. Among his long list of credits are Prince, No Doubt, Chris Norman, Mousse T., Eric Burdon and The Animals and Boney M.
As part of his seminar, Hans-Maring Buff will share his theoretical knowledge and show you examples of his workflow. Afterwards he will be available for discussions, where he will also discuss his top "Tips & Tricks". Attendes will be divided into two groups and will stay in the two large studios (NEVE & SSL) most of the seminar time. Each Group will have 3 Workshops a day (each 90mins long).
On the first evening, the attendees may attend our special dinner where they are able to share their experiences and first impressions in a relaxed athmosphere. The preliminary seminar schedule is available as a pdf file.

Am 7. und 8. November findet in Berlin die SAE-Masterclass 2008 statt. Die Teilnehmer erwartet ein zweitägiges Seminarprogramm und die seltene Gelegenheit, bedeutende Toningenieure und Produzenten persönlich kennen zu lernen.
Für die Masterclass konnte der legendäre Alan Parsons gewonnen werden, der durch Produktionen der Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Holies, Al Steward, Paul McCartney, dem Alan Parsons Project und vielen anderen Alben Musikgeschichte schrieb. Alan wird einen Mixdown - Workshop anhand einer seiner weltbekannten Produktionen geben sowie ausführlich über seine Arbeit berichten. Die Seminarteilnehmer werden einen tiefen Einblick in seine Arbeitsweise nehmen, und bekommen die Möglichkeit mit ihm darüber zu diskutieren.
Als zweiten bedeutenden Engineer und Produzenten konnten wir Hans-Martin Buff für die Masterclass gewinnen. Zu seinen Credits zählen u.a. Prince, No Doubt, Chris Norman, Mousse T., Eric Burdon and The Animals und Boney M.. Auch er wird sowohl in der Theorie als auch am praktischen Beispiel seine Arbeitsweise erläutern und steht für Diskussionen, Tipps und Tricks an beiden Tagen zur Verfügung.
Die Seminarteilnehmer werden in zwei Gruppen aufgeteilt und verbringen die meiste Zeit direkt in den beiden großen Studios (Neve & SSL) der SAE Berlin. Pro Tag gibt es für jede Gruppe 3 Workshops á 1,5 Stunden. Am Abend des ersten Tages ist dann ein gemeinsames Abendessen geplant, bei dem erste Eindrücke und Erfahrungen in aller Ruhe ausgetauscht werden können. Die Kosten betragen 599 Euro. Für SAE Studenten und Alumnis kostet die Masterclass 299 Euro. Anreise und Unterbringung ist nicht im Seminarpreis enthalten.
